In this blog I will write about the changes that I would make to my study program in the sociology major. I will not be realistic at all, because I feel that the most important thing is a much deeper change than just a few small things.
First, about the subjects I think it is important that in our major to have more art, music and sports classes will allow us to educate ourselves more deeply and to be much happier beings.
Regarding the workload and length of studies I think it is the number of hours we attend classes is good, it is very important to be and hear the teachers and classmates, but I think it is not necessary to send so many tasks, texts and final tests , because it is not a parameter of knowledge, it only tires us and makes us suffer. Chile is one of the countries where the major lasts five years or more, which is ridiculous because it is expensive to study and very few can pay so many years.
I feel privileged in terms of infrastructure because I think there is a lot of concern in it and it shows that there are resources in it.
Finally, I believe that the teaching methods could be improved a lot if they were hand in
hand with the technology that can be used much better because it is available to us.
I think all this is very possible, but the most important change we must make is to stop specializing in just one area. I would love to be able to study many more subjects and not have to pay five more years of career for it. We must stop specializing and be much more complete and complex beings.
I agree that there should be more art, music and sports! It is very innovative!
